BASF recently launched a new high-molecular-weight dispersing agent, Dispex® Ultra PX 4290, which reportedly features excellent performance in pigment stabilization, outstanding color strength, and brilliant viscosity reduction. According to BASF, Dispex Ultra PX 4290 offers the benefits of higher pigment loadings while maintaining exceptional flow characteristics. Additional highlights also include improved gloss, anti-flooding behavior, and excellent flocculation stability.

Dispex Ultra PX 4290 was reportedly developed in response to a surging market demand for a dispersing agent that enables broad applicability in both inorganic and organic pigments and fillers used in water-based automotive OEM and refinish coatings, industrial coatings, and wood coatings. BASF reports that its application can be further extended to printing inks and adhesives as well.
