LONZA MICROBIAL CONTROL: Antimicrobial Products

This company’s Zinc Omadine® ZOE™ antimicrobial product and related zinc pyrithione compounds can be used to protect the surfaces of coatings and other dry films from fungal and algal growth. Xinc pyrithione reportedly shows a lower toxicological profile when used as a dry film preservative. In addition, it can provide good activity against both fungi and algae, offer long-term protection due to its low water solubility, and does not trigger environmental symbol labeling at normal use levels.
