Previewing the Adhesive and Sealant Council's Spring Convention and Expo
The event will provide attendees with an in-depth look at major trends and research in the adhesives and sealants industry.
The Adhesive and Sealant Council (ASC) Spring Convention and Expo will welcome hundreds of visitors from around the world for the 2014 event, which will be held April 28-30 at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress in Orlando, Fla. The Convention, Expo and Pressure Sensitive Adhesives Short Course will provide attendees with an in-depth look at major trends and research in the adhesives and sealants industry.
“The program will be broad-based and support chemists, business analysts, raw materials suppliers and buyers, and the business professionals with responsibility for growing sales within their market sector,” said Matthew Croson, ASC president. “With the support of member companies, the ASC continues to produce a strong educational program designed to ensure industry professionals are connected to the trends impacting the industry today, in order to plan for the future.”
Session Syllabus
Industry experts will lead a series of technical sessions on each day of the convention. In more than 50 technical presentations, speakers will touch upon the topics that are most relevant to the adhesives and sealants community, including formulation strategies, medical sector trends, market growth areas and technology updates. Regulatory issues, such as TSCA reform and California’s Rule 1168, will also be examined. In addition, highlights of the session program will include three keynote addresses that will reflect upon the economy, the petrochemical industry, and other major trends and issues.
The ASC will also release two new reports: the Central and South American Market Report and the PSA in North America Report. “We are pleased to be developing these new member services that will help guide decision making within this important region, and for this important technology,” said Croson.
Possible Partnerships
During the convention, a new networking program will help ASC members forge business connections with fellow attendees. The program, called EasyLink, will allow members to provide their contact information and connection requests to an ASC staffer, who will arrange the necessary connections.
On Tuesday, April 29, the 3.5-hour Expo will provide a valuable networking opportunity for adhesive and sealant manufacturers, distributors, consultants, and more. See the Exhibitor List.
Principles of PSAs
Hot melt, UV cure, and water based: all of these PSA types and more will be examined during the Pressure Sensitive Adhesives Short Course seminar on April 28 and 29. Industry experts will lead a comprehensive review of PSA materials, markets, production processes and applications. Participants from all spheres of the adhesives and sealants world are encouraged to attend.
Outdoor Options
Outdoor social activities will round out the schedule of events at the ASC’s Spring Convention. On Monday, April 28, golf enthusiasts will enjoy the exciting Jack Nicklaus Signature Design courses at the Villas of Grand Cypress Golf Club, while walkers and runners will appreciate the fun run/walk sponsored by Arizona Chemical and held at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Resort on Tuesday, April 29.
