
Program Highlights for the ASC Fall 2014 Convention and Expo
The ASC Fall Convention and Expo will draw hundreds of visitors from around the world.
Delegates from around the world will meet at The Adhesive and Sealant Council (ASC) Fall Convention and Expo, scheduled to take place October 20-22 at the Hyatt Regency Greenville in Greenville, S.C. The event will include concurrent technical sessions focusing on business development and market trends, technical and government relations, and new technology and applications, as well as a waterborne adhesives Short Course and an Expo.
ASC Fall Program Highlights of the Day: Monday, October 20
The Adhesive and Sealant Council’s Spring Convention begins on Monday, October 20, with a Waterborne Adhesives Short Course and a Golf Outing (pre-registration is required for both).
From 2-5:30 p.m., the ASC Board of Directors meets, followed by a Welcome Reception and celebration for Bostik’s 125th anniversary. The reception takes place from 6-8 p.m. at the Commerce Club across from the Hyatt Greenville.
ASC Fall Program Highlights of the Day: Tuesday, October 21
On Tuesday, October 21, attendees to the Adhesive and Sealant Council’s Fall Convention will begin their day with a Breakfast and Keynote at 7:30 a.m. David Crowe, Ph.D., chief economist and senior vice president at the National Association of Home Builders, will provide an update on macro-economic trends, along with data on the building and construction industry in his presentation, “What to Expect in Housing.
Following the breakfast, three separate education sessions will discuss Raw Material Trends, a Formulation and Technical session, and a session covering New Technology and Application.
From noon to 1 p.m., an ASC Membership Update Lunch will take place, where ASC President Matt Croson and ASC Chair Rusty Thompson will give presentations. An invitation-only Speed Networking Lunch is also scheduled.
Afternoon sessions resume at 1 p.m. with a Business Development and Market Trends track for end users; a Technical and Government Regulations session; and a New Technology and Application track with a Sealants Focus.
From 3:30-7 p.m., the Expo and Reception will take place in the Regency Ballroom on the first floor.
ASC Fall Program Highlights of the Day: Wednesday, October 22
On Wednesday, October 22, the Fall Convention begins with a General Breakfast and Keynote, where Robert (Bob) Marquette, senior vice president, Bostik Americas, will discuss the evolution of the adhesives industry and Bostik’s journey over its past 125 years in business.
Educational sessions begin at 9:15 with a Business Development and Market Trends track; a session covering Technical and Government Regulations; and a New Technology and Application track.
The General Session and Keynote is scheduled for noon, where keynote speaker Richard Farrell, president of Tangent Knowledge Systems, will present his talk, “How the Information Economy Has Neutralized and Marginalized the Traditional Selling Value Proposition of Companies.”
Educational sessions resume at 1:45 with a Business Development and Market Trends track focusing on small business; a Technical and Government Regulations session on equipment; and a New Technology and Application: Advanced Technology Link track. In addition, ASC Committee meetings take place from 2:30-3:30 p.m.
From 3:30-4 p.m., a Committee Knowledge Integration Meeting is scheduled to take place, with the intention of updating each of the ASC committees on each other’s activities.

The Closing Session takes place at 4 p.m., with presentations by Chuck Houk, president of Tremco Sealants and Waterproofing; and Michael Cohen, president of Industry Sky Works. Houk and Cohen will highlight how drone technology is providing customer value for Tremco’s Roofing and Building Maintenance division and the potential for using this technology for vertical wall systems, expanding the ability to quickly pinpoint gaps throughout the
