
Nashville Hosts the Adhesive and Sealant Council Spring 2015 Convention and Expo
The program includes concurrent technical sessions, an Expo, Caulks and Sealants Short Course and more.

Delegates from around the world will gather for the Adhesive and Sealant Council’s Spring Convention and Expo, scheduled for April 20-22 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville. The event will include concurrent technical sessions focusing on raw materials and feedstocks, market intelligence, packaging and pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSAs), bio-inspired technology, and more, as well as a caulks and sealants adhesives Short Course and an Expo.
Keynote Speakers
The following keynote speakers are scheduled to present at the event:
• Ken Mayland, president of ClearView Economics LLC, will present the Tuesday Opening Keynote, “What Makes America the Best Place to Be in 2015?” Mayland will address what is going on abroad, achieving sustainable growth, oil prices and interest rates, and more.
• Michael Cohen, president of Business Development for Industrial SkyWorks; and Charles Houk, president of Commercial Sealants and Waterproofing for Tremco Inc., will present the Wednesday General Session Breakfast Keynote, “Enhancing Building Performance with Drone Technology.” The presentation will highlight how drone technology is providing customer value for Tremco Roofing & Building Maintenance, as well as the potential for using this technology for vertical wall systems.
• Dave Parillo, Global Research and Development director for Packaging and Specialty Plastics with The Dow Chemical Co., will give the talk “How Packaging Sustainability Trends are Driving Adhesives Innovation” at the Wednesday General Session Lunch. This presentation will describe sustainability trends in packaging and the resulting new adhesive technologies being developed that provide the needed bonding performance and efficiency while also delivering an improved environmental profile.
• David Nick, president and CEO of DPNA International Inc., will give the Wednesday Closing Keynote, “A Fresh Perspective: The Outlook for the Adhesive and Sealant Industry, 2015 and Beyond.” The presentation will highlight significant market adjustments as the adhesives and sealants industry moves beyond the past recession and market contractions.
The Expo and More
More than 60 exhibitors will highlight industry innovations from 3:30-7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21. The ASC Expo Reception will take place at 5:30 p.m. Hundreds of adhesives and sealants professionals are expected to attend the Expo for networking and learning about the newest products and services in the adhesives and sealants world.
The ASC Spring Convention will also feature a Caulks and Sealants Short Course, scheduled for April 20-21. The technical short course will help attendees gain a better understanding of the functions and applications of caulks and sealants. The course is also open to RD&E, application engineers, technical sales/services, architects, specifiers, project managers, and sales/marketing professionals.
