Switzerland Looking in the Woods for Adhesives

Researchers in Switzerland are showing promising results for tannins extracted from native tree bark becoming a renewable alternative in producing adhesives and composite materials. By applying a two-stage water-based process, the researchers in Biel have found a way to extract tannins at purity levels that allowed for the extracts to be turned into adhesives for fiberboards and chipboards.
