Hexion announced that it has successfully completed the Responsible Care 14001® (RC14001) certification process, achieving compliance at all of Hexion’s North and Latin American sites. RC14001 is the globally recognized gold standard for environmental, health, safety, and security management systems established by the American Chemistry Council’s (ACC) Responsible Care program. The company has also achieved ISO 9001 certification (International Quality Management System) at 24 sites within its network.
“This achievement reinforces our commitment to the highest standards of health, safety, security, and environmental performance for our products and operations,” said Michael Lefenfeld, president and CEO. “We are proud of this designation as a part of the Responsible Care program as it complements our culture of safety and continuous improvement initiatives throughout our global operations.”
The recent certification audits included the company’s headquarters and five manufacturing sites: Edmonton, Canada; Sheboygan, Wisconsin; Hope, Arkansas, Morganton, North Carolina; and Alexandria, Louisiana. Each audited site participated in a comprehensive review that demonstrated compliance with environmental management, safety procedures, regulatory compliance, product safety, security measures, emergency response plans and community/stakeholder engagement.
