ASC Offers Educational Opportunities in 2024

The Adhesive and Sealant Council (ASC) is offering several webinars and short courses in the first half of 2024. These educational offerings are designed for professionals in the industry, including technology managers, R&D scientists and manufacturing engineers, as well as those in technical and business roles. The following is the list of educational offerings. 


Webinars

Adhesives for Transportation Lightweighting

Instructor: George Ritter of ChemQuest Group. 

Wednesday, February 21, 2024, 10:00–11:00 a.m. EST.

Attendees of the webinar will learn the importance and implication so lightweighting in the transportation sector. They will learn key markets within the sector and drivers that impact those markets. Additionally, they will hear about the types of materials manufacturers might encounter when assembling structures in transportation applications. They will also learn about the types of adhesives using in joining materials and the key adhesive characteristics needed in specific transportation markets. Safety First! Best Practices in Environmental, Health and Safety

The council is offering two short courses co-located with the 2024 Convention & EXPO. These courses will be held at the Omni Louisville Hotel in Louisville, Kentucky. Registration for courses will be open until March 29, 2024 at 12:00 a.m. EST. 


Short Courses


2024 Polyurethane Short Course 

Monday, April 15, 2024 to Tuesday, April 16, 2024. 

The 1.5-day short course will cover the chemistry and technology behind one-part and two-part polyurethane formulations. Topics covered will include markets, raw materials, reactions, formulating, fundamentals of adhesion, polymer science, and physical testing. Experts from the field will teach the course, which will include discussion and networking opportunities. The course will provide information about how to design, select, apply and troubleshoot polyurethane formulations. The short course is designed to provide industry professionals with a better understanding of the technology, chemistry and fundamentals of polyurethane adhesive and sealant formulations. Attendees should have a knowledge of chemistry.

Formulation Strategies Short Course

Monday, April 15, 2024, to Tuesday, April 16, 2024. 

The short course offers a comprehensive fundamental platform, highlighted through industry case studies to increase your understanding of the best practices and programs one needs to design, formulate, evaluate and launch new or enhanced adhesives via intensive instruction and case studies. The Formulators Tool box and additional, valuable strategies shared in the course will enhance the ability to assess supply chain options, deliver quality products from production at a cost defined from the well-crafted business case. Suitable for a wide range of technical participants, the course is designed for entry level personnel to experienced senior technicians and PhD scientists who wish to formulate and troubleshoot effectively.
