Four of Sartomer's facilities were honored by the American Chemistry Council for outstanding workplace safety records (2002). Specifically, the company's manufacturing plants in Chatom, AL, Stratford, CT, and Chatham, VA, received Certificates of Excellence, which are awarded to facilities with no on-the-job deaths and no lost workday cases (away from work or restricted activity) among both employees and contractors. Additionally, Sartomer's Grand Junction, CO, manufacturing plant received a Certificate of Achievement, which is awarded to facilities with no deaths and no lost workday cases involving days away from work.
