NORWOOD, Mass. -- Tyco Adhesives LP, a Tyco International Ltd. company, has acquired the packaging, label protection and masking tape business lines of R2 Tape, Inc., Bensalem, Pa. R2 Tape, Inc., manufactures pressure sensitive products using high-quality acrylic emulsion adhesives. As a result of this agreement, R2 Tape will exit from the manufacture of packaging, label protection and masking tapes, but will continue manufacturing and marketing products ranging from application tape to overlaminate. No change in employment levels is anticipated at R2 Tape's manufacturing facility.

According to Mark Brandon, president of Tyco Adhesives LP, the transaction brings a strong line of complementary products and technology to Tyco Adhesives. "This acquisition is consistent with our goal of providing a full line of the highest quality pressure sensitive tapes to our customers. In addition, this transaction brings to Tyco Adhesives a stronger position in acrylic emulsion technology, which continues to grow as a high-quality, environmentally friendly solution to pressure sensitive applications," Brandon said.

Tyco Adhesives Unit Agrees
to Purchase 100% of Shares of Manuli Tapes

Tyco Adhesives LP has also entered into a definitive agreement to purchase 100% of the shares of Manuli Tapes S.p.A from Manuli Packaging S.p.A. Manuli Tapes S.p.A is a recognized world leader in the manufacture and marketing of a full line of high-quality pressure sensitive tapes, including packaging and masking tapes.
