KINGSPORT, Tenn. - Eastman Chemical Co., Kingsport, and Hercules, Inc., Wilmington, Del., announced on Feb. 5, 2001, that they have reached an agreement related to Eastman's acquisition of Hercules' hydrocarbon resins business and select portions of its rosins resins business. Company officials said they expect to complete negotiations of customary agreements and to close the transaction by the end of the first quarter. The terms and definitive acquisition agreement will be subject to approval by the boards of directors of both companies.
