CHEMCENTRAL has announced that its Board of Directors has elected Samuel W. Ach to the position of senior vice president, general counsel and secretary. In this capacity, Ach will oversee all of the company's legal activities in addition to being a key member of its executive management team. Ach fills the position left by William D. Mulliken, who retired. Prior to joining CHEMCENTRAL in 2004, Ach was chief counsel for the Illinois Department of Transportation and served as its Chief Ethics officer. Prior to that, he held various positions with SBC/Ameritech Corp., including general counsel of Ameritech New Media, Inc., the largest competitive cable television systems operator in the U.S. at the time.
