Global specialty chemicals manufacturer Sartomer Co. recently announced that it will operate in Japan on an independent basis under the name Sartomer Japan, Inc. Sartomer Japan, Inc. will be under the direction of Masa Fukuda, the company's general manager for Japan. Previously, Sartomer's monomers and oligomers were sold in Japan through the company's twelve-year joint venture with Nippon Kayaku Co., Ltd. (Tokyo) under the name Kayaku Sartomer Co., Ltd. During this time, the marketing partnership enabled Sartomer to expand its market share of liquid monomers and oligomers in Japan. In July, Sartomer acquired 100 percent of Kayaku Sartomer Co., which it has renamed Sartomer Japan, Inc. Sartomer has also announced the appointment of Toshiya Sugimoto as technical manager in Japan. In this position, Sugimoto will work directly with Sartomer's customers to develop new and innovative applications.
