Kusumgar, Nerlfi & Growney recently announced the completion of a multiclient study entitled "Additives, 2003-2008." The report characterizes U.S. additive consumption in coatings, paper coatings, adhesives, sealants and inks. According to the study, additive usage in these five industries was 1.2 billion pounds in 2003, valued at $1.7 billion. Volume has grown at a 2% annual rate since Kusumgar, Nerlfi & Growney's 1998 study on additives. Growth through 2008 is forecast at a similar 2% yearly rate.
