ARLINGTON, Va. -- High-performance adhesives applications will be highlighted in the technical program of Polyurethanes Conference 2002, scheduled for Oct. 13-16, 2002, in Salt Lake City. More than 70 technical papers applicable to various polyurethane markets will be presented in 13 sessions, making this year’s conference one of the broadest ever. The Alliance for the Polyurethanes Industry (API), the event’s sponsor, expects that the range of topics will attract an equally diverse group of attendees.

The Adhesives session at Polyurethanes Conference 2002 will examine new polyurethane dispersions for adhesive applications, as well as enhanced performance applications for the coatings and elastomers markets. Mark Adams, The Dow Chemical Co.; Kurt Frisch Jr., Bayer Corp.; and Chris Hummel, Huntsman Polyurethanes, are the session organizers. Vahid Sendijarevic of Troy Polymers will moderate.

In addition, the API will offer a training seminar, Understanding Polyurethanes -- Chemistry, Raw Materials, Processes and Applications. The seminar, running October 14-16 at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City, will cover the basics of polyurethane chemistry and technology. Enrollment is limited to 150 individuals.
