Cancarb Ltd. has announced that it has received certification for its quality, environmental and health safety management systems from the Canadian General Standards Board (CGSB). Cancarb is the first carbon black operation in North America to receive all three certifications, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. Cancarb underwent the CGSB audit in December 2003. "The entire Cancarb team is to be praised for their attitude, personal and corporate, towards doing things the right way," said Roy John, CGSB team leader. "Using a single management system, we have met the requirements of all three standards," said Dave Petrie, Cancarb's manager, Quality Assurance. "This unique approach has allowed us to increase our effectiveness while simplifying and improving efficiency."
