LMI Technologies (USA), Inc. has introduced a series of single-point laser sensors that are well suited for thickness measurement, profiling, positioning and other applications in most industries that require a sensor with a long stand-off and measurement range. The DLS-2000 line of laser displacement sensors from LMI is lower in cost than many other comparable sensors and is among the most versatile in the industry due to its small size. Offset distance, which is the distance from the sensor face to the beginning of the measurement range, is 4.0 in. (100 mm), 10 in. (254 mm) or 19.7 in. (500 mm) for the long-range version. The sensors deliver a 25-micron resolution at a 1.8 kHz scan rate, or a scan rate of 1.667 kHz for the long-range version. Measurement range is 11.8 (300 mm), 24 in. (610 mm) or 118 in. (3,000 mm), depending on the model selected. Accuracy is +/- 0.05%.
