The start of a new year is always exciting. It is a time for a new beginning, a fresh start, for New Year's resolutions, and promises you'll hope to keep throughout the year. This is an especially notable time for us here at ASI. With this issue, we are launching a complete redesign to the magazine, providing a fresh new look to an old favorite. We hope you will find the new design to be easier to read and navigate.
As part of our new look, we have streamlined our news section to include the Calendar of Events, as well as the Company News and People sections you rely on. Furthermore, we have made the Price Adjustments section easier to read by putting each item in a simplified bulleted format.
Our back-of-the-book departments have been reorganized to make it easier to find the new products, literature, formulated adhesives or raw materials you are looking for. The section as a whole is now called "What's New," and each sub-category is color coded for easy reference.
In the coming months, we will be introducing numerous new sections in the magazine, as well as several supplements that will be geared toward end users of adhesives and sealants. Watch for more details in future issues of ASI.
We hope you enjoy our new look. I would love to hear what you think - please send me an e-mail at mcphersont@bnpmedia.com or give me a call at 810-664-0030.
I would also like to take this time to welcome Samuel Berkowitz to our Editorial Advisory Board. Sam started his career with the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. in 1962, after receiving BS and MS degrees in chemistry. During the 1970s through the ‘90s, he was president of his own consulting company in Wilmington, DE; president of PPD Corp.; director of Corporate Development for Peter Cooper; Marketing manager for Adhesives and Sealants for Arizona Chemical; and Business manager for Adhesives for Eastman Adhesives. He attended his first ASC meeting in 1963, and is the longest active member in the organization. Currently, Sam is the director of Marketing for the H.M. Royal Co., Charlotte, NC.
Best wishes for a safe and prosperous new year!
