Wacker Chemical Corp. has earned the distinction of being the only chemical manufacturer to receive the coveted Buckman Top 1 Supplier Excellence Award for 2004. The Buckman Top 1 Supplier Excellence program recognizes the top one percent of suppliers to Buckman Laboratories, Memphis, TN, based on the suppliers' performance. According to Joseph Wilson, Jr., vice president of Wacker Chemical Corp.-Performance Materials, the Buckman Top 1 Supplier Excellence Award was created to recognize suppliers who consistently meet stringent performance criteria. "A number of factors make up this criteria," Wilson says. "Among them are a supplier's ability to provide a secure supply of material, expertise with formulation guidance, technical support, dependable and timely delivery service, and professional sales assistance. Missed shipments and pricing stability are also considered." The award was presented to Shawn Parcell, Wacker Corporate Account Manager, at a special dinner in Memphis.
