The convention will focus on new and emerging technologies, and will feature speakers from industry, the academic research community and end users. Sessions include emerging markets, e-commerce, SPURS technology (silated polyurethanes), new hybrid epoxy resins, customized block copolymers, functional polymers, and marketing. The technical sessions will cover bioadhesion, urethanes, reactive and moisture-cured hot melts, nano particles and radiation/UV-curable resin systems.
An interactive panel discussion on the future of research and development is also scheduled. The panel will examine what research and development will look like in the next five to 10 years, how industry and academia may collaborate, how much time will be spent addressing the day-to-day issues of technical support vs. discovery research, and more.
The ASC will kick off the meeting with an evening at the Carnegie Science Center sponsored by Bayer Corp. ASC will also hold its Expo on October 26 from noon to 3:00 p.m. Equipment manufacturers and suppliers of technology and services are invited to exhibit.
