The Pressure Sensitive Tape Council 2006 Week of Learning is scheduled to take place May 1-5 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. The only industry event focused on pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) tape, the event will include a combination of educational events and will feature an exhibit. Manufacturers, suppliers, distributors and end users will find information of value at the 2006 Week of Learning to:
• Gain the knowledge they need to succeed
• Grow professionally within the PSA tape industry
• Stay current with cutting-edge research through technical paper presentations
• Interact with others who work daily, just like themselves, in the exciting world of PSA tape.
"The PSTC Technical Seminar is the only industry event focused on pressure sensitive adhesive tape," said PSTC Technical Committee Chair Michael Tumey, Ph.D., of 3M. "Industry leaders know that this is where you come to be totally immersed in tape knowledge. In recent years, with the expansion to the full Week of Learning, this has become even more apparent."
TECH XXIX Technical Seminar
The week's main event features cutting-edge technical papers on an array of technical topics impacting the industry. The papers represent the best of the best, selected after a rigorous review process by PSTC experts. With exhibits, poster presentations and ample networking time, TECH XXIX is the place to be if you want to succeed in the tape industry. It begins Wednesday, May 3, and ends Friday, May 5.
"TECH XXIX provides an opportunity to see what is on the cutting edge in tape technology development and production," Tumey said. "No other event around focuses on PSA tape. In addition to technical papers, we will also offer the 2006 Exhibit Showcase with some 60 of the industry's prominent suppliers." (See sidebar for a current list of exhibitors.)
Tape University 102
Starting on Monday, May 1, at lunch and ending Tuesday, May 2, this course is for technical staff members - scientists, R&D, engineers - requiring more in-depth information on the chemistry, physics, process, and engineering of manufacturing tape. Lecture topics range from adhesion theories to formulation, and are taught by Tape University faculty who work daily in the PSA tape industry.
Tape University - Basics
This course is for those new to the PSA tape industry or those who are working in sales, marketing, quality control or customer service throughout the tape channel - manufacturer, raw material supplier, distributor, converter, end user. The course begins Tuesday, May 2, with breakfast, and ends at 4 p.m. Tuesday, thus allowing attendees to join the Web Handling Workshop, which runs from 4-7 p.m.
