INEOS Oligomers, League City, TX, has announced a planned investment of $4.5 million for its Whiting polyutene plant that will improve its capability to meet the demands of INEOS Oligomers’ customers. The planned logistics modifications will enable the plant to supplement on-site sources of raw material supply to further optimize utilization of existing production assets.
Lohmann Corp. has announced that its subsidiary,Lohmann Specialty Coating LLC, Orange, VA, will be expanding its existing manufacturing facility in early 2007. The new project will cost approximately $2 million and will add 25,000 sq. ft. of office and warehouse space. The expansion will be used to support the transfer of production of a wide range of pressure-sensitive tape products that are currently being made at Lohmann’s plant in Germany, while also supporting the Lohmann Group’s penetration into the medical/specialty coating markets.
Powers Fasteners Inc., Brewster, NY, has expanded its global presence into five continents with the opening of a new office in Bangkok, Thailand. The new 10,000 square-foot facility is located at 80/89 M004 Petchakasem Road in Bangkae, Bangkok, and is headed by Managing Director Charlee Surakavanichakorn.
To strengthen its Asian presence, Munich, Germany-basedWACKER Grouphas opened a new technical center in Singapore. The facility will serve as a regional Center of Excellence for construction polymers, silicone emulsions, silicone resins and antifoam agents, with a focus on the development of applications in the construction, textiles and pulp and paper processing sectors.
