Rahn USA Corp. is celebrating its 10th anniversary on the occasion of this year’s RadTech UV&EB Technology Expo & Conference in its hometown of Chicago. Incorporated in 1997, the company opened for business in April of 1998 and has been headquartered in Aurora, IL. Now with 11 U.S. team members, the company moved to a larger site in December 2007. The new premises also houses its extensive lab facilities, which serve as a worldwide competence center for adhesives and coatings, and is the main North American distribution center.
A Successful Beginning
We are proud of our strong business-development record in the North American market, recording a continuously growing market share over the last decade. Sales volume has grown impressively, but a strong emphasis has also been placed on developing an organization that provides top-class technical and customer service, and on developing relationships with customers in the energy curing (UV and electron-beam curing) industry.According to Marcel Gatti, vice president of Rahn AG’s Energy Curing division, Rahn USA Corp. has been the most successful investment in a subsidiary company in the history of the Rahn Group. Volumes have increased 50-fold over the last 10 years, despite the industry background of consolidating supplier and customer base. While our main focus has been graphic arts and adhesives, the company considers itself a broadly based supplier that can offer support to all formulators, including niche applications interested in UV/EB systems.
A Strong Future
The U.S. economy is a present concern, and we see 2008 as a consolidation year after many years of double-digit growth. We will continue to support our customers, and are convinced that the value propositions of UV/EB and Rahn EnergyCuring will provide significant growth opportunities going forward. We offer a full product line of raw materials to UV/EB formulators, backed with technical support. Innovation remains a high priority; among five new product innovations, the company released a new additive in 2007 with exceptional performance-stabilizing metallic pigments in UV systems, maintaining our leadership position in this sector of the marketplace. Tailor-made solutions are also a Rahn strength; our two application labs are complemented by the extensive R&D facilities of partner Miwon (South Korea) to bring the solutions needed to support new opportunities for clients. Key brand names are GENORAD*, GENOMER*, GENOCURE*, GENOPOL* and MIRAMER (Miwon).
Rahn is pleased to welcome friends old and new at the forthcoming RadTech, which will take place May 4-7 in Chicago.
