The Surface Mount Technology Association (SMTA) has announced a
search for committed individuals for its board of directors. Candidates
should have valuable skills and ideas to continue the SMTA’s mission of helping
members succeed in electronics assembly and related business operations.
The SMTA is a volunteer-driven organization, meaning everything
from its chapters and educational programs to its strategic planning and budget
allocation relies on the dynamic leadership of volunteers.
Nominations will be accepted through April 17, 2009, for the term that begins at SMTA International,
October 4-8 in San Diego, CA. The only requirement for nominees
is that candidates be SMTA members
who have demonstrated a commitment
to the association in the past.
In addition to leadership opportunities, the numerous benefits
of serving on the board include exposure to personal and professional contacts,
and the chance to exchange ideas with fellow leaders.
