The Synthetic Organic Chemical Manufacturers Association (SOCMA), Washington, DC, has announced Michael Kennedy as its new senior manager of Government Relations and staff lead for its Safety and Security Committee. Prior to joining SOCMA, Kennedy supported the Committee on Education and Labor in the U.S. House of Representatives and provided policy support to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

SOCMA President Joe Acker said, “We are excited to welcome Mike to SOCMA. His safety and security experience is a great asset to our time, and we expect Mike’s wealth of knowledge on the issues will continue to increase value for our members. We look forward to his contributions.”

Kennedy earned a B.A. from the University of Delaware and a J.D. from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law.
