IPC – Association Connecting Electronics Industries®, Bannockburn, IL, has
appointed Yury Kovalevsky as its official representative to Russia and
Russian-speaking countries.
Kovalevsky’s appointment is part of IPC’s long-term plan to
expand services and standards globally. His presence is expected to make IPC
services widely available to companies in Russia, a market with enormous growth
potential for both electronics and manufacturing services and printed board
production.
“We’re thrilled to have Yury on board, and excited about the
promise of engaging Russian companies in our standards development activities,”
said David Bergman, IPC vice president of international relations. “Their
participation will strengthen the standards because of the different demands in
this market. We hope to get them involved in translation, contributing to new
revisions and eventually originating standards as well.”
Kovalevsky received his degree as a development engineer for
electronic equipment design and manufacturing in 2002 from Moscow State
Technical University n.a. Bauman. He has held engineering and management
positions for MNPP Saturn Ltd. And Tyco Electronics AMP GmbH. He now heads the
Center of Technological Information for Producers of Electronics.
Kovalevsky will work closely with IPC European Representative
Lars Wallin, based in Stockholm.
