Bayer MaterialScience Increases Aliphatic Coatings Capacity in China (11/10/09)
Bayer MaterialScience has
announced a capacity expansion of Desmodur® N aliphatic
coatings raw materials at the Bayer integrated site in Caojing,
China, near Shanghai.
The plant has increased the capacity of Desmodur N to 27,000 tpa to meet the growing demand in Asia, particularly China, in the automotive, general industrial and plastics market. The company has produced Desmodur N coatings raw materials at Caojing since April 2003 at a facility that had an initial capacity of 11,500 tpa.
Desmodur N is part of the Desmodur polyisocyanates range of raw materials for the formulation of a variety of polyurethane coatings, adhesives and sealants. Desmodur N is a solvent-free aliphatic polyisocyanate resin based on hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI).
