The Thermoset Resin
Formulators Association (TRFA) has launched a newly designed Web site atwww.trfa.org. Previewed at the association’s
2009 Annual Meeting Sept. 13-15 in Pittsburgh,
the new site features bolder graphics, easier access to member information, and
a wealth of accessible industry information. The TRFA Members-Only site will
continue to feature access to all TRFA Technical Paper Presentations, including
those from the 2009 Annual Meeting.
The new Web site reflects
the growing role of TRFA in the thermoset resin industry. TRFA is the only
organization dedicated to serving the needs and interests of all thermoset
formulators, and it has a broader focus than just epoxy.
One of the new features of
the revamped Web site is a Q&A section aptly titled “ASK TRFA.” It is
designed as a resource for people to obtain information and ask technical,
logistics and management questions regarding the thermoset resin industry. Questions
posted on the Web site will be forwarded to legal counsel and then to the
appropriate committee
chairman for the committee to answer. Question submissions will remain
anonymous. Answers to general technical
questions will not involve confidential information or trade secrets. The most
current questions and responses will be posted on the public Web site. Past
questions and answers will be archived on the members-only Web site, creating a
body of Q&A information from which TRFA members may draw.
Additional enhancements to
the Web site include a growing body of regulatory information. The TRFA
Regulatory Affairs Committee has published an important list of more than 160
regulatory acronyms, available on the association Web site. TRFA Fact Sheets (covering
regulations that have been passed by governments and Issue Alerts, new issues, trends,
etc. that are not yet regulations) are now on the Members-Only Web site. Current
Issue Alerts include: Bisphenol A (BPA); Greenhouse Gas Reporting; Globally
Harmonized System (GHS); and TSCA Reform. Fact sheets are available on the Canadian
Chemicals Management Plan (CMP) and Registration, Evaluation, and Authorization
of Chemicals (REACH).
