Pilot Chemical has received
certification and compliance with the Society of Chemical Manufacturers and
Affiliates’ (SOCMA) ChemStewards program. ChemStewards is SOCMA’s flagship
environmental, health, safety and security (EHS&S) continuous performance
improvement program. The ChemStewards program was created to meet the unique
needs of the batch, custom and specialty chemical industry. Participation in
the ChemStewards program is a mandatory requirement for SOCMA members engaged
in the manufacturing or handling of synthetic and organic chemicals.
“ChemStewards has moved the overall
Pilot Chemical EHS&S program forward by creating a focus on EHS&S
excellence and continuous improvement through policy, procedure, measurement,
and audit functions,” said Susan Leslie, Pilot’s vice president of Operation. “We
are proud of each of our plants’ achievements for their certification under the
ChemStewards program.”
