The Associated Press reports that Powers Fasteners Inc., Brewster, NY, has agreed
to a $100,000 fine to settle a federal charge that the company failed to disclose
in writing that its epoxy glue was not suitable for securing ceiling panels in Boston’s Big Dig highway
project. A woman was killed and her husband injured when falling ceiling panels
crushed their car in July 2006.
