Cook Composites and Polymers (CCP) celebrated its 20-year anniversary on Feb. 9. CCP was formed out of a joint venture between Total Chimie of Paris and the Cook Paint and Varnish Co. of North Kansas City, MO.
CCP is an industry leader in the coatings and composites markets. The company has participated in the development or purchase of approximately 12 manufacturing and distribution companies over its 20-year history. CCP is the world's largest producer of polyester gel coats, and, with affiliate companies, it is the second-largest producer of coatings resins and unsaturated polyester resins. In addition, the CCP distributor network is North America's largest for composites and cast polymers.
Headquartered in Kansas City, CCP maintains manufacturing facilities throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico. CCP affiliate companies include TOTAL, Cray Valley, Sartomer, Reacciones Quimicas, Peninsula Polymers and Progress Plastics, among others.
