A new release agent that is dissolved in water for use in pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes is available. RA-15 is a high-molecular-weight polymer similar in structure to the solvent-based PVODC and contains only the elements C, H, O and N. Developed for OPP packaging tapes with SIS-, SB-, SBR- and NR-based adhesives, it can also be used with most tapes and backings such as corona-treated polyolefins, polyester, PVC, and paper. Coater-ready solutions are prepared by dilution with water. Release properties are instantaneous on drying.
