Henkel’s recent sustainability conference at its Düsseldorf, Germany, global headquarters gathered together the Board of Trustees for Sustainability at Arizona State University (ASU), international industry experts, and science and political leaders. Participants convened under the auspices of the Global Institute of Sustainability for a three-day conference with the theme “Sustainability is a Global Enterprise." Discussion topics ranged from the role of multinational companies and political programs to sustainability science in higher education.
“We are delighted to welcome so many international experts from business, industry, and economics, as well as the sciences and politics here today,” said Kasper Rorsted, Henkel CEO, in his opening address. “The world population is growing, the average standard of living is rising and so is the consumption associated with it. We have to promote sustainable consumption worldwide. Consequently, we are very pleased to have this unique opportunity for discussing and exchanging examples of best practices from the various disciplines and regions represented here today."
