Wayne Devonport will be responsible for the global research and product
development strategy for coatings binders used in architectural
formulations.
Wayne Devonport, Ph.D., has joined Arkema Emulsion Systems as a Global Coatings Research leader. Devonport will be responsible for the global research and product development strategy for coatings binders used in architectural formulations. Prior to joining Arkema Emulsion Systems, Devonport was synthesis group leader for The Dow Chemical Co. in Spring House, PA.
“Dr. Devonport brings an excellent record of innovative thinking and commercial success in developing binders for architectural coatings,” said Chris Miller, global director of Research for Arkema Emulsion Systems. “His ability to match innovative solutions to customers’ exact needs fits our strategy and helps strengthen what we believe is a very productive R&D organization.”
In addition to Dow, Devonport worked as a research scientist for Cabot Corp. and as a Product Development scientist for Argonaut Technologies. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Bradford, Bradford, UK, and a doctorate in chemistry from the University of Durham, Durham, UK. He is a published author in 20 peer-reviewed publications, and he holds 17 U.S., EU, and world patent families.
