SilForce SLAM* 3000
technology significantly improves label release
coatings.
Momentive
Performance Materials has received the 2010 Technology in Production Award from
the Center for Economic Growth (CEG), a not-for-profit organization covering
the state capital region in Albany,
NY. The CEG awards program honors
the region’s innovative and growth-oriented companies and individuals
representing technology industries.
Momentive
was recognized for improving its production process for SilForce SLAM* 3000
silicone anti-mist additive, which is used in label release coating systems. The
new process improves product consistency and increased first-pass yield from 72%
to 100% while providing better product viscosity. The additive production
process also shortened overall production and equipment cleaning times and
enabled reductions in clean-out and waste generation per unit of product
produced. This adds up to greater quality and a potentially higher operating
profit margin for Momentive and more consistent products for customers.
“We
are very proud of innovative teams throughout our company who are able to
deliver tremendous value for Momentive and for our customers, and we are
thrilled to receive the recognition our production process has earned from the
Center for Economic Growth,” said Eric Thaler, Momentive CEO.
