3 Sigma chairman to take reins as CEO; company also appoints V.P. of Operations.
Grant Beck, owner and Chairman of 3 Sigma Corp., will assume
the role of CEO of the company, taking over for Thomas Trayner. Beck has owned
the company since 1997 and has led the board of directors and the organization
through significant expansion over those 13 years. In addition to 3 Sigma, Beck
owns or has owned numerous companies in the printing industry including
Baseline Inc., Convertech Inc., Ryno Rollers and Heath Custom Press.
Trayner
was initially brought into 3 Sigma as a consultant in late 2008 to implement
certain key initiatives established by the board. Having fulfilled his
assignment, Trayner has now moved on to pursue additional opportunities outside
the company.
The company has also appointed Tony Rowley as
vice president of Operations reporting to Grant Beck. He will be responsible for the Research &
Development, Manufacturing and Administrative functions of 3 Sigma. Rowley has been with 3 Sigma for five years
and has implemented numerous changes in the organization relating to process
and technology growth. He has an extensive background in the industry that
includes technical and management positions at Spinnaker and Ashland Chemical.
