Mark Cancilla is responsible for the marketing and technology strategic focus and directing new business development of PPG Aerospace’s commercial, military and general-aviation aerospace transparencies.
PPG Industries’ aerospace business has appointed Mark Cancilla global platform director for aerospace transparencies, effective March 1. Cancilla is responsible for the marketing and technology strategic focus and directing new business development of PPG Aerospace’s commercial, military and general-aviation aerospace transparencies as well as transparent armor products. He will be relocating from PPG’s Huntsville, AL, aerospace transparencies facility to the company’s aerospace headquarters in Sylmar.
Cancilla began his PPG career 25 years ago as a glass engineer at the company’s Pittsburgh headquarters and subsequently held several engineering and sales assignments. He joined PPG’s aerospace transparencies business in 1998 to manage the Seattle regional office and moved to Huntsville in 2001 as manager of product design, development and quality. Cancilla became global business manager for aerospace transparencies the following year, and he most recently served as global manager for commercial aerospace transparencies, since 2006, when PPG acquired Sierracin/Sylmar Corp. and integrated its operations.
A West Mifflin, PA, native, Cancilla holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a master’s in engineering management from the University of Pittsburgh.
