TAPPI has announced that Peter Wallace will receive the 2011 TAPPI Herman L. Joachim Distinguished Service Award. Established in 1994, the award recognizes an individual for voluntary leadership and service that has significantly and demonstrably contributed to the advancement of TAPPI. Wallace is business director of Industrial Specialties with ARCLIN.
“Pete’s leadership and dedication, particularly in the TAPPI Nonwoven Division, has been crucial to the success of the division,” said Larry N. Montague, president and CEO of TAPPI. “He has been instrumental in numerous committees and conferences, and continues to contribute to the division and to TAPPI.”
A graduate of the New York State College of Forestry & Environmental Science at Syracuse University with a bachelor’s degree, Wallace worked in the wood products industry before moving into resins. He held positions at Reichold Chemical, BTL Chemical and Borden Chemical, which later became Hexion Specialty Chemical.
