A new bio-polyol is in the developmental stages at the Ohio State University's Agricultural Research and Development Center in Wooster, Ohio. Although the biodiesel byproduct used to make the new product would normally be considered waste, biosystems engineer Yebo Li has discovered a way to use it in a new polyurethane foam (which could possibly be made into a sealant or thermal insulation).
