RadTech recently announced “Good Manufacturing Practices for UV/EB Food Packaging” will take place October 11. The free one-hour webinar, presented by Tom Dunn, Flexpacknology, will be held from 2-3 p.m. EDT.
UV/EB inks and coatings may be used for food contact packaging if a printer/converter uses good manufacturing practices (GMPs) to ensure the safety of those products. Recent European initiatives have given the GMP concept new and very concrete implications for printers.
The webinar will present a GMP overview in the context of regulations governing food contact materials in the U.S. and EU. GMPs provide the foundation for the more quantitative aspects of using UV/EB for food packaging, such as validation of extractables, process monitoring, and verification of cure.
