LORD, a subsidiary of the North American LORD Corp., announced it has initiated a project to build a site in the city of Itupeva (São Paulo), Brazil. The industrial park in Jundiaí, occupied by the company since 1974, will be deactivated after all the equipment has been moved to the new headquarters, which must be ready by the second half of 2013.
“In Itupeva, we will have 10,200 m² of built area, and the total area comprising 40,500 m² will still allow several expansions,” said Fernando Siqueira, projects leader. “Nowadays, all land occupied by LORD has 7,800 m². In other words, there will be no lack of space to fulfill our aggressive growth plan for the next 20 years.”
Construction is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2012. According to Siqueira, the new site will be built to the most demanding security standards in the country. “The project is also strongly pointed out by its concern with the environment, following the best engineering practices,” he said.
