Asia and Middle East are the key regions where growth in the global vinyl acetate market will intensify, according to “Vinyl Acetate (VAM): 2011 World Market Outlook and Forecast” from Merchant Research & Consulting Ltd. A number of projects and new facilities are planned to come on-stream in the coming years; vast capacity expansions are set for China, and Saudi Arabia and Iran are also reporting increases in vinyl acetate output.
In the developed countries, the financial recession of 2008-2009 had a significant impact on the vinyl acetate market. Today, the market growth rates in the European countries are still fairly slow and demand is weak-especially in such end-use areas as paint, adhesives and construction.
