FLEXcon recently broke ground to expand its Spencer, MA, headquarters with the construction of a new, two-story 20,000-sq-ft technology and innovation center. The expansion will reportedly allow research and development teams to closely collaborate and focus on ingenuity and innovation, and to develop new products that will allow FLEXcon to maintain and diversify their customer base.
The design and layout of this building is intended to foster better collaboration, communication and cross-functional teamwork, resulting in the improved new product designs and faster speed to market that are essential to FLEXcon’s continued success. Construction will be managed by Cutler Associates and is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2012.
“We’re excited to announce the expansion of our Spencer facility,” said Neil McDonough, president and CEO. “For over 50 years FLEXcon’s executive leadership has committed itself to providing the environment and resources necessary to drive open communication and ingenuity across R&D. Our employees, and specifically R&D, are the foundation of successful manufacturing in the U.S. Innovation and problem solving are the seeds to our future success.”
“Unique to other buildings on the Spencer campus, the new facility has been designed to support the various demands of R&D,” said James Casey, vice president, Technology. “The technology and innovation center will allow FLEXcon to develop new and different products and assure the highest level of product vitality in the marketplace. With the right tools afforded by this new facility, along with the inspiration and innovation supplied by our people, we can be sure FLEXcon will continue to expand its global initiatives for future success.”
