ExxonMobil Corp. recently announced the retirement of L. J. (Lucille) Cavanaugh, vice president of Human Resources, effective April 1. It is anticipated that the board of directors will elect M. (Malcolm) Farrant, as vice president of Human Resources, effective April 1. Farrant is currently executive assistant to the chairman.
Cavanaugh joined Mobil Corp. in June 1977. During her career, she held a range of petroleum refining, supply and marketing management positions, including president of Mobil Credit Corp.; general manager of supply and engineering, Mobil Corp.; managing director, Mobil Asia Pacific Ltd.; and vice president, global supply and distribution, ExxonMobil Refining & Supply Co. In 2002, she was appointed vice president, Human Resources.
Farrant has held several management positions with increasing responsibilities in marketing, lubricants and refining in the UK, Europe, and Singapore. In 2006, he was transferred to the U.S. and was appointed vice president of Basestocks, Specialties & Asphalt, ExxonMobil Lubricants & Specialties Co. In 2010, he was appointed downstream business analysis and financial reporting manager, Exxon Mobil Corp. Farrant was appointed to his current position at Exxon Mobil headquarters in Irving, Texas, in June 2011.
