Emerald Kalama Chemical, a division of Emerald Performance Materials, recently announced it has begun construction of a 60% capacity expansion for K-FLEX® non-phthalate plasticizers at its Kalama, WA, facility. The additional reactor capacity is scheduled to be commissioned in January 2013.
“Our product line strategy has been to focus on more environmentally friendly non-phthalate plasticizers and low-VOC coalescents that provide performance advantages to the customer,” said Shamsi Gravel, product line manager, the Americas. “This strategy is in direct response to changing needs in the marketplace. The growing demand for these materials, coupled with the success of our new product innovations, has fueled the need for our most recent expansion.”
