The Dow Chemical Co. recently announced it has been named to Chief Executive magazine’s 40 Best Companies for Leaders list for the second consecutive year. The company rose seven spots to number four in the annual ranking, which appears in the January/February 2013 issue.
Based on a study of 1,000 firms, the ranking scored companies on a number of criteria, including the strength of its leadership development process and management’s commitment to it, the percentage of senior management positions filled by internal candidates, the company’s reputation among its peers as a source for well-rounded talent, and its financial performance.
“This ranking is a significant recognition of our longstanding global commitment to talent and leadership development at Dow,” said Andrew N. Liveris, chairman and CEO. “Dow already attracts the best and brightest from around the world, and it is through our unique programs and performance-based culture that we continue to develop the future leaders of our company. I am proud of the collective success that has earned us this important accolade.”
