TAPPI recently announced Jens-Peter Majschak, Ph.D., a professor at the Technical University of Dresden, and manager of Fraunhofer IVV, will deliver the keynote address at the 14th TAPPI European PLACE Conference, taking place May 6-8 in Dresden, Germany.
“We’re thrilled to have a leading authority such as Dr. Majschak to present the keynote address at the 14th European PLACE conference,” said Kristi Ledbetter, Converting Division manager for TAPPI. “Attendees will have the opportunity to hear one of the industry’s leading experts discuss cutting-edge developments in flexible packaging research, new applications and product development.”
Majschak has been a professor of Processing Machinery and Technology at the Technical University of Dresden since 2004. He was a founding member of the Fraunhofer Anwendungszentrum für Verarbeitungsmaschinen und Verpackungstechnik (Fraunhofer Application Center for Processing Machines and Packaging Technology). Majschak studied process engineering at the Technical University of Dresden. As a scientific assistant, he specialized in the basic studies of creative solutions in the early design stages of process machinery. Majschak was previously managing director of a packaging technology and logistics company. He also worked as chief engineer for technical information systems and head of department of the Fraunhofer Institute for process engineering in Freising, Germany.
