Emerald Kalama Chemical, a business group of Emerald Performance Materials, recently announced the completion of its latest expansion at its facility in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. The company commissioned a new flaker production unit for its PUROX^®B pure grade benzoic acid. The 20 kiloton capacity expansion is designed to support increased market demand for the product in the food and beverage, pharmaceutical, coatings, and other industrial segments. 

“Demand for our PUROX B brand of benzoic acid materials continues to be strong because customers prefer its performance advantages, including high purity, low impurity content, low odor level, reduced caking properties and improved color of the end product,” said Hubert Degens, vice president and general manager, Benzoates and Intermediates.
