Evonik Expands Polyamide Production Capacity at German Site

Evonik Industries recently announced it has expanded its polyamide 12 production capacity at its Marl, Germany, chemical site by 5,000 metric tons, thereby reportedly increasing the supply security of its VESTAMID® polymer material. In addition, preparations have reportedly begun for increasing the production of VESTOSINT® polyamide powder.
Evonik has reportedly developed an improved conventional process for producing polyamide 12, intended for the further expansion of production. Significant progress was also reportedly made in the development of a butadiene- and CDT-free route.
