Bostik recently announced that Diane Toonen, director of Global Strategic Marketing, Global Nonwovens business unit, will discuss the important role adhesives play in reducing or eliminating core fluff in disposable hygiene products at Insight 2014. The event is scheduled to take place October 19-23 in Indianapolis, Ind.
“The fast-growing trend toward ever-thinner cores in disposable hygiene products requires producers to rethink the role of adhesives,” said Toonen. “One core adhesive will not fit all when it comes to making adjustments to fluff thickness. For core stability and overall performance, the adhesive choice, amount and application—as well as product design, materials and equipment—must be taken into consideration to create an optimal solution.”
In addition to adhesive’s role and impact in creating reduced-fluff or fluff-free cores, Toonen’s presentation will cover a variety of core integrity test methods and absorption performance considerations. Her presentation takes place at 2 p.m. on Monday, October 20.
